Information you submit
When you request a transcript, you submit a public Instagram video URL. The URL is sent to our configured transcription provider so it can retrieve or generate the transcript. Do not submit private links, credentials, cookies, or content you are not permitted to process.
Transcript handling
The initial version does not save completed transcripts to its own application database. The result is returned to your current browser session. Our transcription provider processes the source URL and transcript under its own service and retention policies, which may differ from ours.
Logs and analytics
Hosting providers may keep operational logs such as request time, status, IP address, device data, and error details. Optional analytics is off by default. Google Analytics, Plausible, and Microsoft Clarity do not load unless you select Allow analytics. After consent, Google Analytics and Plausible measure page and product-funnel activity, while Microsoft Clarity helps diagnose page interactions and performance. Analytics events do not include the submitted Instagram URL, shortcode, creator name, or transcript text. The complete transcript tool is explicitly masked from Clarity so its source link, status messages, and transcript content are not uploaded for session playback.
Cookies and local state
The MVP does not require an account. Your browser may keep temporary interface state while the page is open. Your analytics choice is stored in local storage so the site can remember whether optional analytics is allowed. Analytics providers may use limited first-party storage only after consent. Hosting and security services may still process limited technical data needed to deliver and protect the site.
Service providers
We use hosting and transcription providers to operate the product. Each provider receives only the information needed for its role. Provider names and policies may change when an adapter is replaced, so this policy will be updated when a material change occurs.
Your choices
You can reopen Analytics choices from the footer at any time. Withdrawing consent immediately records a disabled choice, sends available provider consent signals, and reloads the page without the analytics scripts. You can also close the result and avoid submitting further URLs. For privacy questions or a deletion request concerning data controlled by us, email feedback@instranscript.co.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit content containing sensitive information about a child unless you have the authority and a lawful reason to process it.
